How did you get into skate video production?
My management staff saw a gap in the market and advised me accordingly.
Favourite camera and editing set up? (And why)
VX-1000, MK-1 death lens and a Mac.
Tell us a bit about your local scene and where you grew up (even if its the same or different place)
New Zealand: big fish, small pond.
How would you describe your style of filming and editing?
Slow-burning.
Who are your favourite video geeks and why?
Joe Castrucci, Dan Wolfe and whoever made "Non Fiction". Oh, and Ches and Magee. Because they make/made great videos that weren't compromised for flavour-of-the-minute ideals.
Who do you enjoy working with the most on video projects? (skaters and filmers)
Since there's no money involved it's nice to be able to pick and choose. Everyone I work with is there for a reason and coincidentally we're all pretty good mates.
Do you have any video hatreds? (Filming methods / editing styles etc)
Too many to list here.
Do you still skate or are you a chubby videographer?
Skate first, film second.
How hard was it to put videos you've made together and do you have any advice for other filmers?
Take your time; these things take years for a reason.
What's a perfect filming day? (Spots, face, food, after skate chill details)
One or two people, an unfamiliar neighbourhood and a couple of hours skating before the camera even comes out of the bag.
